Welcome to Barefoot Kona 🌺 This two-story oceanfront villa comfortably sleeps up to 8 guests and offers the perfect setting for a relaxing Big Island getaway. Surrounded by lush tropical landscaping and overlooking the Pacific, this home was designed for guests to slow down, reconnect, and fully embrace island living. THE SPACE Upstairs, the private primary suite offers a peaceful retreat with a king bed, walk-in closet, ensuite bathroom, and private lanai with beautiful ocean views. Enjoy your morning coffee or unwind in the evening while taking in the ocean breeze. The upstairs landing offers a flexible bonus space with a 32" monitor for remote work, a cozy reading or play area, and an additional twin bed. Relax after a day of exploring with a 70" Smart TV, comfortable sofas, a cozy recliner, and a fully equipped kitchen with cookware, small appliances, and everything you need to prepare meals at home. OUTDOOR LIVING Enjoy Hawaii's natural beauty from the spacious lanai and tropical backyard. The outdoor space includes comfortable lounge seating, a dining table, and a gas grill for relaxing evenings outdoors. The peaceful backyard is the perfect place to enjoy the ocean breeze, read a book, or practice yoga surrounded by lush greenery and the sound of the waves. FAMILY-FRIENDLY AMENITIES We know traveling with little ones requires extra planning. The home includes a high chair, bathroom step stools, baby bathtub, Pack 'n Play, stroller, beach towels, sand toys, board games, and puzzles. LOCATION Barefoot Kona is ideally located just 1 mile from Magic Sands Beach Park and 2 miles south of historic Kailua-Kona Village. Enjoy easy access to beautiful beaches, snorkeling spots, oceanfront cafés, local shops, and some of Kona's best restaurants. Kailua Pier offers access to scuba diving, kayaking, fishing, and dolphin/whale watching tours. The pier is also the starting point for the Ironman World Championship, typically held each October. Nearby conveniences include Safeway, Walmart, Target, Starbucks, and other stores within approximately 4 miles. Costco is about 8 miles away, and Kona International Airport is approximately 11 miles away.

HOUSE GUIDELINES 🌺 QUIET HOURS - Barefoot Kona is located in a peaceful residential community with many full-time neighbors. Quiet hours are from 9:00 PM to 8:00 AM. During these hours, please keep noise to a minimum, especially when enjoying the lanai and outdoor spaces. Per HOA and Hawaii County hosting rules, parties, events, and large gatherings are not permitted. NON-SMOKING HOUSE - This is a non-smoking home. If you choose to smoke, please do so away from the property and in a location that does not disturb our neighbors. ISLAND LIVING & CONSERVATION - Hawaii's natural resources are precious. We kindly ask that you help us conserve water and electricity during your stay. The home stays comfortable with ceiling fans and natural cross ventilation from open windows. Each bedroom also has its own A/C unit for your comfort. Please turn off A/C units when leaving a room. SAND AWAY - We hope you enjoy Hawaii's beautiful beaches! Before entering the home, please shake sand from towels, swimsuits, and beach gear. Please also remove sand before washing beach items. This helps keep the floors clean, protects the washing machine, and keeps the drains clear. KEEPING ISLAND CRITTERS OUT - The home is professionally treated monthly, but Hawaii's tropical environment means bugs are part of island life. Please help by keeping food stored in the refrigerator or sealed containers and wiping up crumbs, spills, and standing water in the kitchen. POLL, TENNIS COURT & PRIVATE BEACH ACCESS - Your stay includes access to the community pool, tennis court, and private lava rock beach area shared by only 16 homes. A physical key provided at check-in will give you access to these amenities. Please note:
Pool hours are 7:00 AM to 9:00 PM.
There are no lifeguards at the pool or beach. Please swim and use the beach area at your own risk.
Proper tennis shoes are required on the tennis court. PARKING - The HOA does not allow street parking. Please park only in the driveway. NO ROOF ACCESS- For your safety, the roof area outside the upstairs lanai is strictly off limits. Please follow the posted signs on the railing. TRASH & RECYCLING - There are two outdoor bins located just outside the kitchen window. Please separate trash and recycling and place each item in the appropriate bin. For larger amounts of trash or recycling, the community collection containers are located outside the main gate on Ali'i Drive, to the right as you exit the community. Please securely tie all trash bags and break down cardboard boxes before placing them in the bins. The gate code provided in your check-in instructions will allow you to exit the community. ENJOY THE EXTRAS We have stocked Barefoot Kona with thoughtful amenities to help you make the most of your stay. Inside the home you will find extra pillows, blankets, and air mattresses in the bedroom closets. For families traveling with little ones, we provide a high chair, bathroom step stools, baby bathtub, Pack 'n Play, and stroller. For your island adventures, feel free to use the striped pool/beach towels, beach chairs, boogie boards and life jackets. We also provide two tennis rackets and tennis balls for the community tennis court. Please remember to wear proper tennis shoes while playing. You will find board games, children's books, and puzzles in the cabinet under the TV. We hope your family enjoys them. A yoga mat and yoga block are available in the family room for anyone who would like to stretch, relax, or practice yoga during their stay. 🌴 ISLAND REALITIES & COMMUNITY RULES • Tropical Environment: Hawaii’s tropical climate means gecko encounters and local outdoor insects are a natural part of island life. We maintain regular professional pest control, but keeping doors closed helps keep nature outside. • Ocean Safety & Shoreline: The coastline directly in front of the villa is a dramatic lava-rock shore—ideal for whale watching and sunsets! Sandy swimming/snorkeling beaches (like Magic Sands and Kahaluʻu) are just a 3- to 5-minute drive away. • HOA & Quiet Hours: Located in a peaceful, private gated community. Per HOA regulations, strict quiet hours are observed between 9:00 PM and 8:00 AM. • Parking: Dedicated driveway parking is provided for up to 2 vehicles. Please note: HOA rules strictly prohibit street or lawn parking. • AC & Energy Conservation: To help us preserve island resources and keep cooling efficient, please keep windows and sliding doors closed while the air conditioning is running.
